Daviess County Jail Mugshots Overview
Daviess County Detention Center publishes public inmate information through its official inmate lookup and the embedded JailTracker or OMS roster. The jail's public-information page lists releasable fields as age, arrest date, bond information, charges, name, and release dates for past inmates. It does not expressly list mugshots or booking photos as a public field.
The roster application includes image-related strings, but that alone does not prove that every Daviess County jail mugshot is shown to the public. Public display was not confirmed in the research, so a Daviess County booking photo should not be promised until the official roster profile actually shows one or the detention center releases it through an open-records response.
Use the Daviess County jail inmate records page for the roster and custody search. Use the court page for filed charges after arrest, because a booking photo is not proof of conviction.
Daviess County Booking Photo Search
The first place to check is the official DCDC inmate lookup page. The roster can be reached through the jail's Inmate Lookup menu item and its public JailTracker or OMS application. Search by name, compare age and arrest date, then read the charge and bond fields carefully. If a public photo appears on a roster profile, treat it as part of that booking record rather than as a separate photo gallery.
The roster-frame screenshot from the official Daviess County inmate lookup page shows the public entry point used before the roster application loads.
Because the full application is JavaScript based, missing text in the screenshot does not mean a person is not in custody or that no booking photo exists.
- Open the official DCDC inmate lookup or embedded JailTracker or OMS roster.
- Search by last name, then add first name if the result list is too broad.
- Open the matching profile and compare name, age, arrest date, charges, and bond information.
- If a photo is not displayed, save the public identifiers and use the open-records request path.
Daviess County Mugshot Record Fields
A Daviess County jail mugshot, if released, should be read with the rest of the booking record. It is an identification photo generated during intake, not a court finding. The public roster fields are narrower than the jail's internal file, and several common identifiers are withheld by DCDC.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot / booking photo | Not confirmed as a public roster field; may require a records request if not shown online. |
| Name | Publicly releasable identifying name. |
| Age | Listed as public; date of birth is not released. |
| Arrest date | The booking or arrest date shown for the jail record. |
| Charges | Booking or roster charges, which may later differ from court-filed charges. |
| Bond information | Bond data entered in the roster, subject to court or hold changes. |
| Release date | Available for past inmates; current-inmate release dates are not released. |
The DCDC public inmate information page is the key source for what the jail says it releases and withholds.
Those field limits are why a missing online photo should be handled as an official-record request question, not as proof that no photo was taken.
Daviess County Jail Mugshots Law
Kentucky law does not require Daviess County to run a public mugshot gallery. The state's open-records framework gives Kentucky residents a way to ask for records, while exemptions and record-custodian review still matter. A booking photograph can be a public record, but online display and release after request are different issues.
Key Statutes:
KRS 61.872 gives Kentucky residents the right to inspect public records through a written request process.
KRS 61.880 sets the agency response and denial process, including the five-business-day response period.
KRS 61.8746 restricts commercial use of booking or inmate photographs when a publisher charges for removal.
KRS 61.8746 is important for Daviess County jail mugshots because it addresses commercial use after a public agency photo has been obtained. It does not mean every photo must be posted online, and it is not an endorsement of commercial mugshot sites.
Request a Daviess County Booking Photo
If the official roster does not show a public photo, the fallback is a written request to the Daviess County Detention Center Official Custodian of Records. The request should be signed and dated, include the requester's address, state that the requester is a Kentucky resident, and describe the requested record with enough detail for staff to identify it. Useful details include full name, arrest date, visible charges, and any roster identifier shown online.
Requests may be emailed to openrecords@daviesscojail.org or mailed to Open Records Request, Daviess County Detention Center, 3337 Hwy 144, Owensboro, KY 42303. DCDC says it responds within five business days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. Copies are listed at 10 cents per page plus postage, and handbook materials also list media charges of $2 for compact disc and $4 for USB drive when media is used.
The official DCDC open-records request instructions show the request route for records that are not available from the public roster.
Keep the request narrow. Asking for a specific booking photo tied to one person and arrest date is easier to process than a broad request for all jail photos.
Daviess County Public Photo Limits
DCDC expressly withholds several fields that readers often expect to see on booking sites. The jail does not release addresses, appointments, cell locations, court dates, dates of birth, hospital admissions, medical records, PREA information, inactive records, release dates for current inmates, SAP participation, Social Security numbers, or transport information. A booking photo request does not open those restricted fields.
What is and isn't public: Daviess County public inmate information includes listed roster fields, but public mugshot display was not confirmed. Court dates, housing, dates of birth, medical details, and current release dates are withheld or routed to other official sources.
For court dates and filed charges, use KYeCourts, the docket search, or the clerk. A roster charge and a court-filed charge can differ after prosecutor review.
Daviess County Mugshot Removal
Mugshot removal in Daviess County should start with the record, not with a private removal offer. Kentucky Court of Justice expungement materials say dismissed with prejudice or acquitted cases on or after July 15, 2020 are auto-expunged after 30 days, excluding traffic cases. Other eligible felony and misdemeanor records may require petition or certification steps.
If a case has been dismissed, acquitted, sealed, or expunged, the practical route is to verify the court record and then contact the record custodian that controls the booking photo or roster entry. Commercial mugshot publishers and pay-to-remove offers are not official Daviess County channels and should not be used as proof that a jail record remains public. For the court side of the same issue, check Daviess County court records after a jail arrest and confirm disposition with the clerk.
State and Federal Photo Limits
Not every person connected to Daviess County is searched in the county roster. DCDC can hold county, state, federal, and ICE-related custody groups, but the lookup system depends on custody status. Kentucky DOC's KOOL locator is for state offenders and supervision records, not for a new local booking at the jail. Federal sentenced inmates are searched through BOP, while pretrial federal custody may involve the U.S. Marshals Service.
Federal agencies do not operate public mugshot galleries equivalent to a county booking-photo feed. BOP and ICE public tools focus on custody and locator data. ICE lists Daviess County Detention Center as a detention facility, but the ICE detainee locator is not a public mugshot search.
| Custody Type | Photo Expectation | Best Official Channel |
|---|---|---|
| Daviess County jail booking | Public display not confirmed; request may be needed. | DCDC roster and open records. |
| Kentucky DOC custody | KOOL may include offender photos for state records. | KDOC KOOL. |
| Federal BOP custody | No public mugshot gallery. | BOP inmate locator or FOIA path. |
| ICE detention | Custody locator, not a mugshot feed. | ICE detainee locator or facility confirmation. |
Kentucky Commercial Mugshot Rules
KRS 61.8746 is aimed at commercial use of booking photographs and inmate photographs obtained from public agencies. The statute restricts publication when the operator requires payment or other consideration to remove the image. That rule is separate from the Daviess County Detention Center's own decision about whether a photo appears on a public roster profile.
Do not rely on commercial mugshot pages for Daviess County identity, custody, court status, release status, or removal. Official sources are the DCDC roster, DCDC open records, KYeCourts, the docket search, the Daviess Circuit Court Clerk, KDOC KOOL, BOP, ICE, and VINELink depending on the custody type and record needed.
Note: A Daviess County jail mugshot is an intake identifier and does not show guilt, conviction, sentence, or final case outcome.
